Malaysia Election

22 Mar 2004 - Under General By Mandrake

Barisan Nasional (National Front) won the majority of the parlimentary seats in Malaysia during yesterday’s poll in the election. Well, at least they managed to get Trengganu back from PAS (Parti Islam Semalaysia), which in my opinion is a good thing.

At around 1.48am last night, the PM and gang were at their HQ waiting for the majority of the votes to give them most of the say in Parliment. As they were waiting for the magic number of 146, the MC was actually counting up, instead of counting down.

“1… 2… 3… 4… “. I have absolutely no idea what he was counting up to. The number of seconds the BN will win that 146th vote? The number of times the PAS people will be reprimanded by their head?

Anyway, when he was counting up till about “11″, the number changed to 146, and the PM and his gang all stood up. The room was immediately filled with claps, shouting and of course, the right song for this situation. Europe’s “The Final Countdown”, actually, a up-tempo version of that song. I didn’t know Europe had an up-tempo version, maybe there was a disc jockey in the sound room spinning the track?

This was followed by the BN’s song, which with their movements, look like what Mao and his army would do when they are matching down on the road to the capital.

This morning, the spokeman for PAS was interviewed about their major loss. He attribute to the lost by saying that they didn’t anticipate the hugh turn out of voters, about 90% of them. What was he smoking when he was making this statement? If there are 50% voters, PAS wins and if there are 90%, BN wins? What kind of logic is that?

Anyway, remember people, work with him, not for him.

I think we should go and celebrate tonight. It’s not everyday our homeland got such nice events happening.

I bet PAS ppl going to go out and get wasted to forget their defeat and sorrow hahaha. Probably drink coffee until they piss caffeine or something.
