Today during lunch, we went to Sim Lim Square to change for a $18 keyboard that S.D. had purchased for the carputer. The keyboard was not functioning properly and the guy was testing it out and taking his time doing it. Commonsense would tell you to exchange it and test the keyboard later, right? If there is nothing wrong, why would I bring it back? If in the end, you tested it and there is indeed nothing wrong, you can always put it on the shelf and sell it again. Its only we talked to the boss that we were given another keyboard and went off.
On the way back, we saw some dark skinned guys, like they are from the Africian continent. So I was telling CowboyCaleb,” hey, check that out, Nigerian 419 scammers!”.
Well, I don’t think they are 419 scammers nor Nigerian for that matter, but its just a passing joke. And then we break out into this dialog.
Caleb: Hey, whats the currency of Nigeria?
Mandrake: Nigger?
Caleb + S.D.: *Laugh..* can I have 5 niggers please?
Caleb: Whats the cents then?
Mandrake: Nigglets. So its like “can I have 5 niggers and 60 nigglets please?”

Yeah I know what you mean. And it’s always weird for me to see these people call themselves nigger all the time, but when you even think this word, you’re in trouble.
First of all it is “Niggah” not Nigger used by blacks in America. Second of all this word you use in your jokes has a long and hateful history in America and from this post I can only assume 1) You are not American and do not understand the history of this word in America. 2) You are uneducated. Because anyone with a college level education would know how offensive this word is.
Either way, perhaps you should research about WHY this word is negative.

yeah, I do understand the history of the word in America. If I remember correctly (this is a very old post), I think I heard a somewhat similar joke spoken by a black comedian (Chris Rock if I am not wrong) before I adapted it here in this conversation.
He did mention that a black person is allowed to use it, but not a white one. Why?
For me, I believe in using any words, just as long as I don’t believe in the action (see above). Like I said, I could had easily say “julakima” and still meant “black slavery” if I wanted to. Its all in the head.
