Troubled Flight
1st July 2002
Alright. I arrived in Melbourne safe and sound! Heres what happened.. Wrote these on the plane.
4.00pm
Although I had travelled many times by plane since my first trip when I am 5 years old, today, I heard the message that almost all passenger would dread.
“Ladies and gentlemen, there is a slight vibration in the wing. Although we think its nothing serious, we will be returning back to Singapore just to check on it” said the captain 15 mins after take off.
What a way to start the trip and I didn’t bought any travel insurance for this trip.
Oh well, we shall see how long this flight will be delayed.
Anyway, its also one of the quietest flight I’ve even taken. No kids crying or shouting and most of the adults are rather quiet.
Oh yeah, the captain will also relay the result of the world cup final to us.
4.05pm
Alrightm we just jettison tons of fuel for the landing. I wonder how much those cost.
That means we will have to stay for around 1 hr at least before taking off again.
4.26pm
Safe landing an hour after take off. And I am hungry.
8.00pm
Finally the plane took off again. I guess they had the whatever fixed. I hope. Anyway, going for a short nap now. The captain mentioned the problem is dued to some air con parts and they finally found it somewhere. and got someone to fixed it.
No wonder some people don’t like to fly.
Yeah, some people dread to fly, but then they don’t know what they are missing.
