Weekend and R.I.P.

11 Oct 2004 - Under General By Mandrake

Well, Mama Mia was good.. I was late, due to the freaking traffic jam at Orchard. When I reached the junction before Suntec, it was already 7.55pm and the musicial starts at 8pm. I asked the driver whether he can let me down at the junction as its nearer to the theatre. He says if there is any police, he is done for. 1 min later and still waiting for traffic light to go go green, he opened the door and just let me out.. Thanks man, I managed to run to the theatre and was only 10mins late. Luckily the cute steward there let me in between songs so I was only technically 10 mins late.

Hmm, I wonder how many iterations the writers have to go thru before he can weave most of Abba’s songs into the musical. The lyrics of the songs compliments the storyline quite effortlessly. Overall, it was good and comical.

hmm.. okay, walk casually…. I have three good looking girls with me, so it shouldn’t be a problem…
alright, I am thru!!…

Excuse me sir, could you show me your identity card please?

The above must have gone thru this gentleman’s mind at the club. I was on the phone outside and I saw him with 3 girls getting pass the bouncer, but was checked for his ID after stepping thru the velvet line. He was turned back coz I think he was underage for that club, which is like 23? The 3 girls he was with who got thru had to come out with him.. oh well..

The usual houseband wasn’t there at the club.. *on a sat night???*.. instead it was some other band which does a rather good impression of Black Eye Pea.. they managed to get the crowd up into a dancing frenzy, but then after 2 songs, they start into Slow Rock like “My Immortal”. WTF? You got the audience up and dancing after 2 songs and you slowed it down so fast? Think they have to rearrange their song list.

Anyway, Christopher Reeves of “Superman” and his fight against paralyism fame had pass away this morning. Have a good flight…

… in other completely unrealted news, journalist Clark Kent has gone missing. Lex Luthor suspected.

The legal drinking age here is 18. The age the boys get enlisted into the army is around 18 too.. so basically some clubs want to filter out the less desirable people who has a chip on their shoulders or have something to prove.. I think they just want working people instead of army boys. Same goes for girls, some clubs limit the age from 21 and above for girls.

FF: haha.. no strippers that night… nah, went to Bar None.

Lucky for me, if not I would have to hang outside the club if I were there that night.

I think they only restrict guys for this club.. not gals..

I also think it’s because if you are a guy over say, 23, you are someone who has better spending power, as apposed to an 18 year old (unless you are an heir).
