A Taste of World’s No.1
Last night, went off with the pals from pri sch for some dinner and a drink. We went to Outback Steakhouse at Millenia Walk. As usual, I find the appetizers was much better than the main course. We had the mushrooms and onion bloom for appetizers and each of us ordered different steaks. After the hearty meal, we proceeded to the Ink Club Bar at Raffles The Plaza. After two bottles of wine and some beer, I was still alright. Its after I drank my first Grey Goose Vodka Martini that I got quite high, and even worse when I came back.
Well, Grey Goose Vodka is considered as the World’s Number One Vodka. I can’t seem to find it around, even in Duty Free shops overseas. Absolut which pales on comparison is at no.18 on the same chart. Grey Goose goes down really well, and its really smooth. It doesn’t has that bite that some vodka has. Try it if you can.
For today, went down to Plaza for a 3 movies marathon. I watched “The Manchurian Candidate”, “Old Boy” and Ladder 49.
I think Caleb has done a review on it here. You can go and read it. I think its quite an interesting movie with the plot and everything. I am not surprise that this might happen in the future.
As for “Old Boy”, it won the Best movie award in Cannes this year. This movie is about this guy, who was locked up for 15 years for no reason. After he was release, he went on a hunt for the people who did it. Thats all I want to say without wanting to give out any spoilers. I think it really does deserve the best movie award and the plot twist is really intriguing. I have yet to see a plot twist that is this way. However, the plot might not sit well with some of the people. I’ve seen some people refusing to talk about it after they come out of the movie. The actors really protrayed the characters really well, some of the images the director presented was really good, like the part where the scene looks like a beat-them-up game with the crooks on one side of the screen while our lead actor is on the other side trying to beat the shit out of them with a hammer. The directory really did well in the music department, Each scene was carefully crafted with the right music, almost most of them are classical. You can visit the site and check it out.
Damn, I wish I can talk about the plot here without spoiling the movie for you people.. heh.. anyway, after the movie, the gals were commenting that the two korean actresses in the movie really have nice boobs, even though they are relatively skinny. And I agree with them and concur that they are real too. The lead actress looks good.

For the last movie, I watched Ladder 49. Its about the life of this fireman played by Joaquin Phoenix. About the life and trial of being a fireman, about whether you should go for your dreams or look after your family and forsake your dreams. Its quite a good movie, no much down side.

I recommend you people to watch any or all of the above movies if you have the time.

You watched three movies in a row? Man oh man, I fidget like crazy towards the end of one movie, much less three!
yup yup.. 3 in a row, but at least these are okay movies, not like some crap one.. although I was trying to stay awake during the 3rd one coz I was really tired.

Yeah it’s damn good. I didnt see it at the duty free in spore, but I saw it in HK.
There is an Outback over there? Oh yea, there is one in Beijing too. Don’t you just love Americanization? Eat it up!
Outback servings are ridiculously large

Mrs Wang, there is one here.. and like caleb said, the servings are large.. I think two person can share one course.
Although Outback is a Australian themed restaurant, I have yet to see it in Australia..
