Wine, Spam and Hotel Lobby

Wine
I was in the mood for some white wine today so I went to the nearby Cold Storage to get a bottle. SD was looking around (he is not a wine person, more of a beer person) the various bottles and I was looking at the wines. Thats when two guys came to the same section and had this conversation.

Guy 1: Jacob’s Creek not bad.. maybe we should get that?
Guy 2: Is it?
Guy 1: Yeah, Penfolds one also not bad.
Guy 2: How do you choose?
Guy 1: The price tag says it all..
Guy 2: Okay, but what to give him?
Guy 1: *randomly picked one bottle of red wine and went to the counter*

From the conversation, I don’t think Guy 1 is buying the wine for himself and they have absolutely no idea how to buy one. I think if you want to buy a wine for someone, at least have an idea what you are getting. Don’t buy just for the sake of buying anything.. I think this rule applies to all gift, be it a Tiffany pendant or a bottle of wine.

on a different note, I think those wine website looks good.. most of them have surrounding countryside as the focus.

Spam
I’ve been getting quite a number of comments today from “your fat ass”.. however, the spam shield put up earlier this week worked its charm and threw them out so I don’t have to actually go in to delete them. If anyone of you are still having spam issues, please contact me.

Hotel Lobby
Went to the clinic just now with someone near Golden Shoe. Am not when this clinic started, but the decor at the waiting area looks so much like out of a 60s movie, a bit like what Wong Kar Wai would make for his “Story of Ah Fei”. It looks like a hotel lobby from that era, complete with the check in counter and wood panel. I half expect to see a sleepy old man sitting behind the counter smoking his pipe wearing his white singlet while the ceiling fan is spinning aimlessly. Alas, its only the nurse/lady issuing medicine from the glass cabinet while issuing a receipt from her computer.

Amsterdam
If you are out Amsterdam and need to find good Amsterdam hotels or even hotels in Rome, you can easily find hotels using an online phone book which can guide you do the hotels in Amsterdam in many places throughout Amsterdam.

Spammers should be tied up in chains, hung from the ceiling and have their bodies sliced off in small pieces over a period of 10 days. Salt should be poured into their wounds and medication fed to them to keep them alive and awake during the whole 10 day process.
