Of cars and rally
Yesterday, I went to the Asia Motorshow 2004, again. Not that I am so crazy about the cars there, if given a choice, I just get a car and get it over and done with. But then my car cannot be a small car like a Nissan March nor can it be a Toyota Vois (a bit squeezy on the driver side). A Toyota Altis looks good for an entry level, of course I must change the body kit and make it a killer machine.
After watching too much of MTV’s Pimp my Ride, I believe with $$$, I can change my car to a pimp’s car. I can add a 40″ LCD monitor inside, install 3 xTreme Subwoofers in the boot, two 5″ LCD at the back of my headrests and of course mustn’t leave out the PS2/XBox set. Who knows when I need to play a game of Burnout3:Take Down at the traffic jam?! Did I mentioned the fridge?
So I was there again and we were squeezing among the crowd, luckily there weren’t that many kids screaming away running into car doors. There was also the crowd of people with big red Mazda paper bags. These bags are like the size of the seat of a bus, if you lay it down on the floor, you can sit two persons. So anyone who carries it tends to poke the person in front, and the one behind.
Anyway, my friend is thinking of getting a car soon, so we were going in and out of the cars that he is interested and checking out the driver seat (he is quite tall). We also went around slamming car doors, just to see which car manufacturer got the right sound for slamming doors. You must get one that has a solid *thump*.. not those that goes *clamp* or even *klop*… you won’t want to get into an accident in a car that doesn’t sounds *thump*, would you?
Oh, the female models that supposed to sit on the car sucks.. nothing like those Japanese models. I think they should outsource this to some Japan agency to hire in the talents.
On our way back, we drove past Victoria Concert Hall and saw a lot of people in total blue and in total white. I thought its National Day again and the govt are gathered in force to walk down the Padang for a parade. err, turns out its the PAP 50th anniversary and the whole lot of them are gathered there to celebrate more good years. There were a hell lots of policemen around, even Gurka guards. I saw this family being “escorted” down Fullerton Rd by 5 Gurka guards with their rifles, 10 policemen opening and closing up the road in front and behind. Are we at war? I am guessing they are probably family of some Minister.

The new S class has a *click* sound when you close the door. Silent. Damn sleek…
If you want a solid car, should get a continental car.
buy a mpv
mpv good. Only if you get the porsche or volvo one. or harrier.
I think if I were to get the porsche MPV, it would be after I get the porsche sports version..
