If you have an option of getting either one of these phones, which one would you choose? and why?
Anyone has any hands on experience with any of these before?

My contract is up and the phone company is offering me some discount for any phones, your help would be greatly appreciated.
If it was free, I’d get the V3, and you know why.. cos it’s sleek.. but if I had to pay, then it’s the K700i.. good and cheap! Sony’y are easy to get used to if you have been using nokias..
hmm.. nah, its not free.. just that I have some discount which will make the phones slightly more affordable than the recommended selling price.
Another friend said the V3 has slow UI and no very user friendly. Damn..
dont get a flip phone. not suitable for you. you know why. =)

i vote for xda. however i heard there’s no LAN card, must get one urself.
K700i is affordable. Motorola one seem a bit over the top.
I’m using the K700i. Very happy with it. Have never been happier with the phone. But since you have a discount, I say go for the S700i. Looks good and has expandable memory if I’m not mistaken.
the XDA has no wifi card, but can get an SDIO one.
S700i looks a bit thick, but can consider.
If you are thinking abt the XDA, you better check out the battery performance. The display is sure going to take a huge toll on the standy/talk time. I tested the V3 last weekend. Not really recommended, unless “slim” is all you want. In no time, you will look at it as a piece of aluminium junk. Only one color. Oily feeling on metal surface if your hands not clean.
To me, S700i is kinda troublesome coz you need to turn that thing. I remember Motorola screwed up with one similar design. Dunno why SE wants to follow.
So among those, I’d recommend the K700i. BUT…. considering WCDMA is going to be launched in Spore soon, I HIGHLY recommend N6630.
It was supposed to be released Q4, but they delayed it to Q1 05. So you may wanna wait. It’s next generation compatible. Going 3G is just like back then when ppl start ditching the old analogue hackable bulky phones of 1G and moved to 2G.
However, N6630 is not truly 3G. I dont think you can make video calls on it. For a truly next generation phone, get the SE Z1010. However, there is a known bug. Problem when it tries to move from GSM back to WCDMA. We are still not sure if it’s the network or the phone but it’s fine with other models.
Maybe you can check with your phone company if you are elligible as a test user. I know they are some testers roaming around out there now.

think I switch my mind off the V3 from the numerous bad experiences with it from other people. I know what you mean about the S700i with the swinging thingy, but the camera is quite good. As for the XDA, the standby time is 180hrs, not sure how long it will last with me reading on it for like 2 hrs each day. Will pop by later at the shop for a look see.
I still have an option on my current line to get a phone upgrade, maybe I will do that when 3G is out next year with that option.
S700i is soooo HUGE.
