The new Harry Potter book is going to be released in about 23 weeks time and Borders is counting down the days with a board outside the shop. You can get the ebook pirated version in about 23 weeks + 1 day. About 1 day after the actual book was released.
This was what happened to the previous Harry Potter book. As far as I know, it was available about 36hours later. If I am not wrong, there was a group of people who each ordered the book and then coordinated to scan certain chapters and proof read them. Then it was sent to a single person who would be in charge of consolidating all the chapters and then post it up on the net.
Yes, its true, books are also pirated now. The most common books are those of sci-fi origins and IT related books.
Usually I just wait a while and borrow it off someone.
Amazon allowed orders for the book a month or two ago. I don’t read Harry Potter but the movies are quite enjoyable.
