A series of unfortunate events

No, this is not about the movie. If you are lead here by Google or some search engine for the review, leave now.

This month, a strange series of unfortunate events seems to have fallen on the appliances in my house. Is it we didn’t make enough sacrificial virgin (so hard to get nowadays, used to be a dime a dozen) to the kitchen that such tragic events had to fall upon us?

Firstly, my fridge went bonkers. It started to leak water around the base and it seems to be salivating from all the food that were left inside. The back is extremely hot, much much hotter than its supposed to be. I was afraid one day that when I come back home, I find my wall behind the fridge blasted away. First call to the company secure an appointment in the afternoon. Apparently, my area was targeted as the “afternoon” area.. so no technican would be available to be here. They would probably be in Sengkang, on the other side of the island. Luckily the customer service operator manage to secure one for me in the afternoon.

A few days after the technician came to fix the fridge, my mom called and told me that the fridge is leaking again. This time, the technician called and asked me how come my area can be allocated in the afternoon, I told him to talk to their own people. Whats up with that?

2nd thing to break down was the stove. The connector between the LPG tank and my stove was leaking gas the whole time. Yes, there are still some houses without piped in gas. So that explains the sudden burst of flame around my stove sometimes when I am boiling water. I thought its just that the stove was happy to see me, alas it was trying to kill me all along. Bad bad stove.

The third one was my toilet flush. The six million dollars arm *cue 6 million dollars man sound effect here* that my mom had installed on herself managed to destroy the flusher system *in slow-mo*. Managed to get a new one installed after a few days. During that time, we were manually pulling the flusher and giving my mom a dirty look when we come out of the toilet.. *just kidding*..

I wonder what else could go wrong.. Maybe the spoon decided to run away with the fork.. I see my tv giving me the look now..
