In bed with sheep

13 Aug 2005 - Under General By Mandrake

Went to this mall at Jurong East called IMM. Many years ago, IMM housed one of the first giant-mart in Singapore. I remember it as the place where they sell things never by single item. Eg, if you want to buy milk, you have to buy in a pack of two. I guess thats how they survive when they do mass ordering of the items.

You have to register to get a membership card before you are allowed to shop there then. Nowadays, this has been abolished and anyone is free to go.

I was there today with J to look for an interior designer for her new house. At IMM, there are lots and lots of shops that deals with interior designs and we choosed 4 to ask for quotations based solely on what they have to show on their portfolio. Basically, we just walk outside their shops, look thru their catalogs and portfolios and if we like what we see, we walk in to ask for a quotation. Lets see how it comes back next week.

Next we proceed to the 2nd level to check out some beds. There are a lot of major brands like King Koil, Simmons, Sleepmaker, etc there and we decied to walk into the Serta showroom to see their mattress. You probably remember their sheepish ads here.

The salesman was quite helpful and recommend some beds to us according to our sizes and preferences. Some like it soft, some like it hard, and I like it in the middle.

I want to change my bed. I bought my current bed without doing any research. I didn’t know that there was a size called Super Single, thats bigger than the Single bed that I am having now. Its still alright for me but I wish to change to a Queen size one soon. More place to roll around in. Oh the one I am looking at cost $1139, with a cool bedframe thrown in.

Note to self, sheep has no “ass”: sheeps

you tend to buy things you don’t need, coz it just cost $2 for each item!
