Could Have Been

17 Jan 2006 - Under General, Reminisce By Mandrake

I was having a dinner conversation last night when the topic of “what could have been” came up. The subject is more or less about relationships, about the ending of it and about what could have happened if people are still together.

My dinner partner was saying that if a guy asked for a second chance, should she give in? She speculated about what could have been if she gave in. Would they get together and then married and then have kids? Or would it be a repeat of what happened?

Its really interesting to know what could have been if we choose certain path in life. Would the girl I like last time be with me if I had asked her?

Sometimes, looking back is good, but the important thing is to look forward. Let it go and move on.

I really like this song by Tiffany.

Could’ve Been Lyrics - Tiffany

The flowers you gave me
are just about to die
when I think about
what could’ve been
it makes me want to cry

The sweet words you whispered
didn’t mean a thing
I guess our song is over
as we begin to sing

Chorus:
Could’ve been so beautiful
could’ve been so right
could’ve been my lover
every day of my life
could’ve been so beautiful
could’ve been so right
I’ll never hold what could’ve been
on a cold and lonely night

The memorys of our lovin’
still linger in the air
like the faded scent of your roses
they stay with me everywhere

Everytime I get my hopes up
they always seem to fall
still what could’ve been is better than
what could neveRepeat chor be at all

Repeat chorus

How could I hold what could’ve been
on a cold and lonely night?
