Chiang Mai Part 5: ATV Rides

31 Jul 2006 - Under General By Mandrake

One of the many things you can do in Chiang Mai is to go for an All Terrain Vehicle (ATV) rides. Thats exactly what we did on the 2nd day. Usually its supposed to be a 4 hours ride but mine turned out to be around 6 hours. Thank goodness I had a heavy breakfast else we would had to eat raw cabbage.

On the way, as we approached our first natural terrain, one of my colleagues drove the ATV down a slope. Luckily they managed to grab hold of the nearby trees to avoid tumbling down the slope. The ATV got caught among the trees but we managed to salvage it. One of them had tiny splinters embedded into her palm and fingers. We can’t extract it out, so just have to let the body heal itself.

Move along, there is nothing to see as we gather around the accident site.

After that, everything more or less went quite well, except for the occassional ATV that got stuck in mud.

These two pics are of the area that we drove thru. They are planting cabbages on these hill side. The weather was fantastic, not too hot or too wet. Some of us got a bit tan though.
