Anti Virus

21 Feb 2007 - Under General, Tech Talk By Mandrake

My Norton Anti Virus is expiring in about 7 days. I’ve been using Norton Anti-virus for a long time. I think because previously I could get the educational version and its much cheaper than the normal retail version.

However, technology has advanced to such a stage that even free, open-sourced antivirus software are widely available now.

I seldom get my computer infected with viruses or trojans. I don’t anyhow click on links people sent to me and most of all, I use firefox, which is way more secure than Internet Explorer. That doesn’t mean I don’t need protection, its always good to have some protections rather than non, right?

For my new antivirus software, I am considering trying the one from AVG.

Its free and provide realtime scanning of files, which the other free one doesn’t have.

If you are interested, you can check out these two.
