Wisdom of the elderly

19 May 2007 - Under General By Mandrake

Anyone remember when we were young, our visiting grandparents will usually speak some wisdoms to us. To some of us, it might sound like nagging, but to others, it might just goes in one ear and out the other.

I remember my grandpa telling me when I was around 7 years old to listen to my mom, don’t run, don’t take drugs (kidding, I didn’t start at 7), etc. I also remember that most of it goes in one ear and out the other.

Now that I am older and wiser, I realised the wisdoms of their words. They say it out of the goodness of their heart for their grandchildren. And I also realised that whatever we say to kids these days, they might treat it the same as we did when we were young.

But hopefully, when they grow up and become wiser, they will reflect back on what we said and correct their mistakes, if any.
