Hospital dos and don’ts

28 May 2007 - Under General By Mandrake

Here are some stuff I learned about the dos and don’ts of hospitals.

Do keep quiet when you are visiting. Even though your friend/relative don’t mind the festive vists, the other patients do mind, especially if their curtains are pulled. They might be sleeping.

Best bed to have is near the window. Worse is across from the toilet or right next to the door. Its especially noisy.

Try not to bring kids to visit relatives or friends. They probably will make lots of noise and distrub the patients or worse yet, catch something from there.

Hospitals should build a crying room for babies and infants. It should be sound proof so that other people are not disturbed by the constant crying. Of course if its so sound proof, the other patients might just go there and get away from the other people who are visiting.

Local hospital food is quite okay actually, unless you are staying from the long term and you tried all variation of Western Meal 2.

Last but not least, don’t make too much noise. And keep that ringtone that sounds so nice muted.

Anyone else anything to add?

Public & private hospital should have a grieving room. A place where family can calm down before arranging funeral and claiming the body from the morgue
