Congratulations!
I am the uncle to a new niece! Well, sort of, consideration that the baby is not born yet.
I was MSNing one of my cousins from my mother side when she told me that she had to bring her sister to the hospital. This is the same sister whose wedding I attended earlier this year. I am closer to my mom’s side of the family rather than my dad’s side.
I was making a wild guess that she is pregnant when this cousin confirmed it. It was a joyous occasion. So I asked her how many months, she told me 8 months and the baby was due in late Jan.
I went WTF… how come my mother didn’t tell me. She just came back from there somemore! how can! I shall confront her when I see her next.

Mums are always like that!! My mum is even better… Out of the blue, she would go, “Eh… so-and-so had given birth leh… I need to go and give her the angbao tomorrow…” and all of us would go, “Ermmmm, you mean, she was pregnant????”
