Advertlets didn’t renew their domain

5 Jan 2008 - Under General By Mandrake

If you came here directly to my blog and get re-directed to some ad site, its not me.

advertlets.com, one of the blog advertisers that I signed up with forgotten to renew their domain and its placed under Renewal Hold status.

This is bad overall for their reputation. They have thousands of people placing adspot on their blogs and this has to happen. Well, its apparent that someone either isn’t checking their emails or the email used to sign up the domain has been changed.

I happened to see this from hanneng.net

No wonder I kept redirected to somewhere no matter which blog I read..

Advertlets is the one. This is going to be greater than the $1 issue! How can a company forgot to renew their domain!

its equally bad for the bloggers and such. how many people in ping.sg has advertlets? I was just clicking some ping.sg links and most of them got redirected.

I wonder what advertlets would do now?

the hotmail incident was a few years ago. its for the uk domain. another incident was passport.com

this problem with the domain renewal is causing headache for people.

seriously, try going to links in ping.sg and see how many get redirected.

Whatever it is, it is going to upset a lot of bloggers with so many of them forwarded to some unknown site.

One thing I learnt when googling on domain renewal, some were saying godaddy always sent a lot of news to their members and it got so much that many just block it. In the end, a lot of domain went down cos the renewal reminders got filtered off as well.
