iTunes Store Singapore

Nope, Apple have not launched an iTunes Singapore but there are ways to get hold of legal music for your Apple products.

If you want to buy music from iTunes but you are in Singapore, the only way I know besides having a US credit card is to buy the gift card.

There are lots of people selling iTunes Gift cards on ebay. Its quite easy to search for them and some of them will actually sell the gift card to you at 20% discount. Meaning you can buy a US15 gift card for US12. Most do accept payment via Paypal so you can just use that to pay.

Once you have paid, they will email you the authorisation code which you can credit into your iTunes credit.

Now, if you were to use Paypal, there are two ways for you to “deposit” money into your Paypal account.

One is to use your credit card and let them charge into your account. However, I think Paypal charges a certain percentage for this kind of payment.

Another more economical way is to buy Paypal funds. There are quite a number of people selling Paypal funds on forums like Hardware Zone. One good thing about buying these funds (if they are legit and most of them are) is that the exchange rate is much lower than outside. Eg. If you were to go to the money exchange, they will charge you at 1.453. But these people can charge you at 1.415 if you exchange amount in the hundreds.

Usually these transfer are quite fast. You add them to your MSN, get the respective account numbers, transfer and thats it. You have money in your Paypal which you can then pay off the iTunes gift card you got from Ebay.

Now you can buy from a local buyer here. Read about it here

The problem is that you’d still need to create an account first (with an US address) before you are allowed to redeem the gift cards.

Hi, I had been selling iTunes gift card on eBay for a while now and i noticed quite a number of Singaporeans buying.

Since I’m from Singapore too, you can contact me at my blog website http://itunesgiftcard.blogspot.com. The transaction is very simple you just bank transfer me money and I will email over the codes.

So much easier for fellow Singaporeans : )
