Who is Mandrake?

2 Mar 2008 - Under General By Mandrake

Quite a lot of people asked me why I used the name Mandrake.

Well, it has absolutely nothing to do with the Mandrake root from Harry Potter. When the name Mandrake was suggested, the first book of that series was not even out yet.

Many years ago, I used to fly quite a bit all over the place. Whenever Cowboy or our friends were to look me up, I would usually be overseas. So they coined the name “Mandrake, International Man of Mystery”.

I adopted that name to be used on this blog coz it sounds interesting, however I dropped the International Man of Mystery.

In actual fact, Mandrake was the name of the one of the first comics about Magic. He is actually a magician called Mandrake the Magician. I think you can find out more on Wikipedia. That explains the magic wand icon you see in your browser’s address bar when you visit my blog. It has nothing to do with Harry Potter.

So its as simple as that, on how I got my name.
