ODAC Part 1
This was inspired by Jaywalk who blogged about his life in St John when he was younger.
I am blogging this so that I can remember what happened so many years ago.
I was admitted into the JC after the first three months. Before that, my prelim results were not good enough for me to attend any JC so I went to an institute instead. For that first three months, we don’t really study that much, its more or less of having a fun time. I heard from some of my friends who managed to get into a JC that they had fun, especially in a club called ODAC. I witnessed it myself when I sneaked in to join my friend for one of their campfires.
So when I managed to get into the JC, it was one of the first clubs that I seeked out. ODAC stands for OutDoor Activities Club. Basically the club focus on outdoor activities (duh) like camping and its related stuff (think knots, setting up tents, etc).
I joint the club with a close friend of mine who had already joint it during his first three months. I was told that the club numbered more than 50 people during that first three months.
Strangely enough, my seniors that year didn’t really focus that much on recruitment after the first three months. This resulted in us only having a max of 7 people in that club. Its kind of pathetic but its this small numbers that made us bond together.
The seniors numbered around 30 people so they made up some for our numbers somehow when we go camping.
Tune in for part 2.
